Shockwave Therapy Benefits

It frustrates me that this non-invasive procedure that produces results is little utilised. I have found this treatment to be effective for a variety of bothersome orthopaedic conditions similar to the ones listed below.

The real beauty of this treatment comes down to a few things:

  1. A typical treatment of shockwave therapy takes between 5 to10 minutes.

  2. You don't need as many treatments

  3. It is moderately uncomfortable. Similar to a strong deep-tissue massage.

  4. It is incorporated into Remedial/Sports Massage Therapy.

  5. The results are durable- Research shows that shockwave therapy produces long-term results.

  6. The treatment consistently shows positive benefits.

  7. It can be a stand-alone treatment, shockwave therapy works best when combined with a customised rehabilitation plan to address the reasons why you have an injury in the first place.

How does Shockwave therapy work?

Shockwave therapy works by creating a pulse of pressure making strong sound waves. This is a very brief powerful pressure wave, which is transmitted deep into the tissues. When tissues are stimulated by rapid pressure changes they respond in a variety of beneficial ways. This effect is called "mechanotransduction". An example is how muscles response to reduction of stress or relaxation of muscles from the applied massage treatment. Shockwave therapy is a scientific tool which provides a physical force to muscles, in a way that creates a beneficial reaction.

I have been able to effortlessly treat trigger points, plantar fasciitis, persistent shoulder pain, golfer's and tennis elbow, and a variety of musical complaints.

My clients and I were surprised at the speed of results. We agreed that it seems to work quickly, and the results appear to be lasting.
